The Nerja Carnival is one of the most emblematic celebrations on the Costa del Sol, known for its festive atmosphere, creativity, and joy. In 2026, Nerja will celebrate the 42nd edition of the Carnival, from February 12 to 15. The festivities will begin on Thursday, February 12, with the opening proclamation at the Centro Cultural Villa de Nerja, by Antonio Cabra “Chirivita”, accompanied by a performance from the Murga “El Chino”. On Friday, February 13, there will be children’s costume contests and the selection of the Ninfas and Momo, while on Saturday, February 14, the Grand Parade will take place through the streets of the town center starting at 5:00 PM. Finally, the celebrations will close on Sunday, February 15, with the traditional Entierro del Chanquete.
